dc.description.abstract | Malnutrition in children can cause growth and development problems if not addressed early and will continue into adulthood. The research objective was to describe the energy intake, protein and nutritional status of the children in the orphanage. This research is a descriptive study conducted at the Al-Arif Orphanage, Rantau Utara District, Labuhanbatu Regency with a Cross Sectional approach to 75 orphanage children. The results showed that the nutritional status based on BMI / age of 75 children at the Al-Arif Orphanage, Rantau Utara District, Labuhanbatu Regency was mostly in the normal category, namely 44.0%, but it was also found that the thin nutritional status was 56.0%. Energy intake in good category was 58.7% and energy intake in poor category was 41.3%. Protein intake in the good category was 61.3% and the protein intake in the poor category was 38.7%. This research suggestion to the orphanage to pay more attention to consumption patterns in meeting energy and protein needs appropriately and to provide a variety of foods to meet the needs of the orphanage children. | en_US |
