dc.description.abstract | Water quality is the level of water quality conditions that indicate polluted
conditions or good conditions in a water source within a certain time by

Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 82 of 2001 concerning water quality
management and water pollution control. Water contaminated by pathogenic
organisms such as bacteria or viruses can directly affect the health of human
body. water quality based on physical, chemical and biological parameters will
have an impact on public health. The use of water that does not meet health
requirements has implications for disease complaints for its users. The problem in
this study is that the Asahan River becomes a waste disposal site so that the river
water is cloudy and the people in Kuala Silo Bestari Village still use Asahan River
water for their daily needs. This study aims to analyze the quality of river water
with appropriate parameters based on PP. No. 82 of 2001 and skin health
complaints that occurred in the Asahan River users in Kuala Silo Bestari Village,
Tanjung Balai Utara, with using measurement methods in the form of interviews
and laboratory examination techniques, using river water examination techniques
such as temperature, TDS, DO, BDO, CDO, pH, fecal coli or E.coli and total
coliform. The results showed that the water quality carried out at 3 water sample
points in Kuala Silo Bestari Village showed that the physical parameter
assessment obtained a score of 0, where the value met the quality standard, the
chemical parameter assessment obtained a score of -22. With total score
obtained -22 where the value belongs to the moderately polluted category, the
microbiological parameter assessment obtained a score of 0, where the value
meets the quality standard, while the complaints suffered by the community
around the Asahan river, Kuala Silo Bestari Village are scabies where from 23
research samples 6 of them (26,09%) experienced this skin disease, many skin
