    Abstract
Anemia is a condition in which there is a reduction in circulating red blood cells or hemoglobin mass. Anemia is often found in pregnant women. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women is 40%. Based on data from the Ministry of Health, the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia is 48.9%. Based on the profile of the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office, an anemia survey conducted in 4 regencies/cities in North Sumatra, namely Medan City, Binjai, Deli Serdang and Langkat Regencies, found that the prevalence of anemia in women was 40.50%. This study aims to determine the relationship between eating patterns and the incidence of anemia in the work area of the Kuala Health Center, Langkat Regency in 2023. The type of research used was analytic research with a cross-sectional design. The number of samples is 170 pregnant women. Sampling in this study used consecutive sampling by conducting interviews with selected samples. Data were analyzed descriptively, bivariate was analyzed using the chi-square test. The results of the analysis showed that the proportion of pregnant women who experienced anemia was 52.4%. There is a relationship from the analysis using the chi-square test, the number of parity (p<0.05), consumption attitude of Fe tablets (p<0.05), adherence to consumption of Fe tablets (p<0.05), and diet (p<0 .05) with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the working area of the Kuala Health Center in 2023. It is suggested to the puskesmas to provide more information about good diet for pregnant women to prevent anemia and routinely check the hemoglobin level of pregnant women at least 4 times during pregnancy.
