Hubungan Karakteristik Kelompok Umur 26-45 Tahun dan Aktivitas Fisik dengan Kejadian Diabetes Melitus di Desa Tembung Tahun 2023
Abstract
Non-communicable Disease (NCD) is a disease that is not transmissible directly from one person to another. NCDs are expected to continue to rise worldwide death. One of the NCDs that continues to increase is diabetes mellitus (DM). The prevalence of DM increased by 0.5% from 2013 to 2018. The prevalence of diabetes in North Sumatra Province based on a doctor's diagnosis in the population aged ≥15 years was 2,03 and in Deli Serdang Regency was 2.72%. DM ranks sixth out of ten diseases with the highest number of cases in Deli Serdang Regency. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the characteristics of the age group of 26-45 years and physical activity with the incidence of diabetes melitus in Tembung Village in 2023. This research is a quantitative study, using a cross sectional design. The sample is set at 96 respondents using accidental sampling technique .Data was collected through by directly check and interview using questionnaires. Data was analyzed by univariate analysis and bivariate using chi-square test and correlation pearson test. The results showed that there was no relationship between age (0.274) and sex (0.320) with the incidence of diabetes mellitus, and there was a significant relationship between parental/family history (0.001), Body Mass Index (BMI) (0.001), and physical activity (0.001) with the incidence of diabetes mellitus. To the people of Tembung Village who suffer from diabetes mellitus for routine blood sugar control, periodic health checks, weight monitoring, and diligently do physical activity at least 30 minutes a day to reduce the risk of diabetes mellitus.
