    Abstract
    Children under five are an age group that is prone to nutrition and disease, because children under five are in a transitional period, which is a period of dietary changes from baby food to adult food, lack of knowledge of mothers about activities in posyandu, namely weighing children's weight, measuring height, providing immunizations, counseling and nutrition counseling and understanding of mothers, how to process good food if done incorrectly it can cause insufficient nutrient intake so that it can cause malnutrition in children under five. This research aims to determine whether there is a relationship between maternal knowledge, nutritional intake of children under five with the nutritional status of children under five in Tanjung Mulia Village, Deli Serdang Regency. The type of research used is observational analytic research with a cross sectional research design. The population in this study were children under five aged 12-59 months in Tanjung Mulia Village, Pagar Merbau District, Deli Serdang Regency and the sample was 100 children under five. The results of unavariate analysis showed that most mothers of children under five had poor knowledge 57%, and 48% of children under five were underweight. The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between maternal knowledge and the nutritional status of children under five p-value=0.001, energy intake of children under five p-value=0.001, protein intake p-value=0.001, carbohydrate intake p-value=0.001, fat intake p-value=0.001, vitamin A intake p-value=0.001, zinc intake p-value=0.017, and iron intake p-value=0.001 with the nutritional status of children under five. It is expected for the village to always monitor the nutritional status of children under five through regular height measurements and weighing and it is expected that cooperation with health authorities to provide counseling, especially about the purpose and benefits of posyandu and balanced nutritious foods needed by children under five.
