Hubungan Pengetahuan dan Sikap Masyarakat tentang Healthy Lifestyle dengan Kejadian Obesitas Sentral di Kelurahan Tanjung Marulak Kota Tebing Tinggi
Abstract
The changes that occur in this world are increasingly rapid, as well as changes in one's lifestyle that can change the pattern of existing diseases. It is undeniable that a person's lifestyle can affect their health problems. Indonesia is currently still faced with the problem of under nutrition and over nutrition or obesity.Obesity occurs due to unhealthy lifestyles such as smoking, lack of physical activity, consuming foods high in fat and calories, and consuming alcohol, which can be a risk factor for non-communicable diseases or degenerative diseases. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between community knowledge and attitudes about healthy lifestyle with the incidence of central obesity in Tanjung Marulak , Tebing Tinggi . This type of research was quantitative research with an analytic observational research design with a cross sectional approach. The population was 386 people from obese people with the Slovin formula and processed a sample of 80 people. The research sample consisted of 80 people using the simple random sampling method. Data collection methods by interview using a questionnaire. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi square test whose results are described in a frequency distribution table. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge and the incidence of central obesity and there was a relationship between attitudes and the incidence of central obesity. The conclusion was there is a relationship between knowledge and attitudes of the community about healthy lifestyle with the incidence of central obesity in Tanjung Marulak , Tebing Tinggi. Based on this, it was suggested to the Tebing Tinggi Health Office to work with the local public health center to provide information related to healthy lifestyle to the community and be able to change behavior for the better by implementing a healthy lifestyle.
