dc.description.abstract | Adolescence is a period of transition from children to adulthood. In this phase, nutrients are needed which more than before can help to increase physical growth and better development. Nutrition and health problems in adolescence often occur in every individual, especially teenagers who live in Islamic boarding schools. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between food intake and physical activity on the nutritional status of female students at the Al-Kautsar Al-Akbar Islamic Boarding School. This study used a cross-sectional design. The population in this study were female students of class VIII A and IX A at the Al-Kautsar Al-Akbar Islamic Boarding School, totaling 50 people. The sampling technique in this study was total sampling, the population and sample in the study were the same. Food intake data was collected using a food weighing questionnaire, food scales and female students' activity data was collected using a formulir physical activity level sheet. Univariate data analysis in this study described the distribution of frequency of food intake, physical activity, and nutritional status of female students and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test described the relationship between food intake and nutritional status and activity of female students and nutritional status. The results showed that there was an correlation of food intake, namely energy (p=0.008), carbohydrates (p=0.013), and fat (p=0.011) on nutritional status. However, there was no significant correlation of protein intake (p=0.063) on nutritional status. The results of this study also showed that there was a significant correlation of physical activity (p=0.014) on the nutritional status of female students. It is hoped that Islamic boarding schools will optimize attention to the intake of food provided so that more attention is paid to the nutritional intake of the food in order to reduce the habit of eating snacks for female students. | en_US |
