    Abstract
Nurses work 24 hours to serve patients. Nursing services have important meaning for patients. The services provided by nurses still often complained about the community and nursing services also determine the quality of the hospital. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nutritional intake, nutritional status and work stress with performance of nurses at RSU Haji Medan. This research is an analytical research with a cross sectional approach. The location of this research was carried out at Medan Hajj General Hospital. The samples obtained were 53 respondents using the proportionate random sampling technique. The results showed that the nutritional intake of nurses still had problems, namely carbohydrates, vitamin C, Folic Acid and Iron which were lacking or not fulfilled, there were 32 nurses with normal nutritional status, 37 nurses experienced work stress, and 30 nurses with adequate performance. The results of data analysis using the chi square showed that in the nutritional intake variable there was a relationship between energy intake and performance (p=0,014) but in other intake variables no relationship was found with performance, nor was there a relationship between nutritional status and performance (p=0,176 ), while for work stress a significant relationship was found with performance (p=0,000). From the results of this study it was concluded that in the nutritional intake variable there is a relationship between energy intake and performance and there is no relationship between nutritional status and performance in nurses at the Haji General Hospital in Medan. Meanwhile, work stress with the performance of nurses at Medan Haji General Hospital has a significant relationship. It is expected that nurses will be able to adopt a healthy lifestyle by consuming a variety of nutritious foods balanced with vegetables and fruit in order to achieve the highest possible health status and good performance.
