Background. Nearly 4 million people in the world are living with CRT and hemodialysis is the most common form of CRT with a prevalence of about 69% of total patients undergoing CRT. HD patients with inadequate treatment can experience complications such as depression and impaired nutritional status. Objective. To determine the relationship between depressive status and nutritional status in patients with regular hemodialysis at H. Adam Malik Hospital. Methods. This study used a cross sectional design of 100 respondents at H. Adam Malik Hospital Medan. Research data were obtained through anamnesis using BMI measurements and Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9). Results. The prevalence of nutritional status disorders in HD patients was (52%) while the prevalence of depressive status was (77%). The results of the correlation test with the Chi-Square test between depression status and nutritional status showed a p value <0.05. Based on multivariate analysis, only age characteristics were significantly associated with nutritional status (OR: 2.25 95%CI: 0.97-5.646 p = 0.004). Conclusion. Depression status is significantly associated with nutritional status in patients with regular hemodialysis at H. Adam Malik Hospital.en_US
