Profil Pasien yang Terdiagnosis Osteoporosis dengan Pemeriksaan DXA Scan di RS Setiabudi Medan Tahun 2022-2023
Abstract
Background. Osteoporosis, a degenerative bone disease, results in reduced bone density and is influenced by factors such as age, gender, BMI, smoking, and alcohol consumption. Dual X-Ray Absorptiometry Scan (DXA Scan) is the gold standard for assessing osteoporosis. Objective. To understand the profile of patients diagnosed with osteoporosis through DXA Scan examination at RS Setiabudi Medan in the year 2022-2023. Method. This research is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional design. The study sample consists of osteoporosis patients who underwent DXA scans at RS Setiabudi between 2022-2023 and were selected using consecutive sampling methods. The data used in this study are secondary data from patients' medical records. The analysis used is univariate descriptive analysis. Results. Among 180 patients, 58 (32.2%) were male, 122 (67.8%) female. Predominant age group is >65 years (32.2%), 46-55 years (30%), 56-55 years (23.3%), and 31-45 years (14.5%). Obese I was seen in 117 patients (65%), Obese II in 33 patients (18.4%),Overweight in 18 patients (10%) and normal in 12 patients (6.6%). Alcohol history in 85 patients (47.5%) and smoking history in 81 patients (45%). DXA Scan results: 119 patients (66.1%) had osteoporosis, and 61 patients (33.9%) had severe osteoporosis.Conclusion. The most common gender is females (69.2%). The most common age range is >65 years (32,2%). The most common BMI is Obese I (65%). There were 85 patients with a history of alcohol consumption and 81 patients with a history of smoking. The DXA scan examination results showed osteoporosis as the most common diagnosis (66.1%).
