Gambaran Karakteristik pada Pasien Kanker Payudara di RSUP Haji Adam Malik Medan pada Tahun 2022

Abstract

Introduction. Breast cancer is a malignancy in breast tissue that can originate from the ductal epithelium or lobules. Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in Indonesia. Breast cancer occurs more often in women older than 50 years than in women younger than 50 years. Some risk factors for breast cancer are hormonal factors, family history of cancer and a person's lifestyle. Breast cancer is a type of cancer that often occurs in women in Indonesia. Breast cancer has a contribution of 30% and is the most dominant type of cancer in Indonesia, beating cervical cancer or cervical cancer which contributes 24%. Objectives. This study aims to determine the characteristics of breast cancer sufferers at Haji Adam Malik Hospital Medan in 2022. Methods. This research is a descriptive analytical research study with an approachcross sectional, using secondary data, namely data obtained from medical records of breast cancer patients at Haji Adam Malik Hospital in 2022. Results. The distribution of breast cancer patients in 198 research samples obtained the highest results based on age 40 49 years with 97 samples (49%), high school education level with 124 samples (62.7%), employment status working with 138 samples (69.6%), 172 samples (87%) were married, 130 samples (65%) of the histopathological picture were IDC, 130 samples (65%) of definitive treatment consisted of surgery and systemic therapy, 74 samples (37.4%), supporting examinations were 132 samples (66.7%) of ultrasound and the stage of breast cancer is stage III in 92 samples (46.5%). Conclusion. Based on the results of data collection, it was found that 198 subjects suffered from breast cancer and the highest results based on age 40 49 years, high school education level, employment status working, married and the histopathological picture were IDC.
