    Abstract
Typhoid fever is a fairly serious disease in the world and in Indonesia. WHO states that typhoid fever in the world reaches 11-20 million cases per year which results in around 128,000 - 161,000 deaths each year. Typhoid fever was included in the top 10 most common diseases in hospitalized patients in Indonesian hospitals in 2011 with a total of 41,081 cases. Based on Laporan Kinerja Instansi Pemerintah (LKIP) of the 2021 DINKES PROVSU, typhoid fever is ranked 5th out of the 10 biggest diseases in the inpatient wards of the Fasilitas Pelayanan Kesehatan Lanjutan (FPKL) with a total of 2,515 cases in North Sumatra Province in 2020. This study aims for what factors affect the safety level of inpatients with typhoid fever at Dr. Pingadi Medan City. This research is a quantitative analytical cohort retrospective study. The data used is secondary data obtained from the medical records of RSUD Dr. Pirngadi Medan City in 2021. The sample size is 70 patient medical record data. The results showed that the suspicion of the recovery rate of patients with typhoid fever at RSUD Dr. Pirngadi Medan city is 0% with a median of 5.76 days. The results of the multivariate test showed that there was an effect of the complication variable on the recovery rate of inpatients with typhoid fever at Dr. Pirngadi Medan City 2021. Typhoid fever patients who experience complications 0,188 times recover faster than typhoid fever patients who do not experience complications. Suggestions in this study are to further improve medical services for inpatients with typhoid fever and increase the reliability of patient healing by monitoring typhoid fever patients so that serious complications do not occur and improve the quality of medical records so that there are no concerns about the data to be examined by future researchers.
