dc.description.abstract | Motorcycle riding behavior is one of the biggest causes of the increase in death rates due to traffic accidents. Several factors that influence driving behavior include speed, helmet use, cellphone use, and violation of traffic rules. Motorcycle users are one of the road user groups most vulnerable to traffic accidents. The number of motorbike accidents in Medan City increased by 1.17% in 2019 and 1.31% in 2020. There were 2,108 traffic accidents that occurred in Medan City, with 1,628 of them involving motorbike users. Based on the problem of traffic accidents using motorbikes, identification is needed to determine fatal driving behavior. Naturalistic Driving Study (NDS) is a driving behavior research approach that observes and records driver behavior in real-time in real situations on the road, using technology such as cameras, microphones and other sensors on the vehicles used. The risky behavior of motorcyclists is influenced by driver behavior, the behavior of other road users and environmental factors. The results of the analysis obtained show that there are 18 risk behavior scenarios found on the highway. The risk level of driving behavior is divided into 3 which are determined through the Severity Frequency Matrix assessment, with 11 scenarios categorized as low risk, 4 scenarios categorized as medium risk, and 3 scenarios categorized as high risk. The highest scenario which is included in the high risk category has a value of 24.82% for the scenario of common traffic violations committed by fellow drivers, 16.31% for the scenario of driving in contact with other drivers, and 7.80% for the scenario of drivers braking suddenly due to traffic suddenly slowing down. | en_US |
