    Abstract
Introduction. Ovarian cancer is a series of diseases that start in the ovaries, or the region around the peritoneum and the fallopian tube. There has been an increase in cases of ovarian cancer, making it the third most common cancer in Indonesian women in 2020. It is related to the lack of early detection tools as well as non-specific clinical manifestations, resulting in delayed diagnosis and a poor prognosis. Some factors associated with the incidence are old age, nulliparity, hormone replacement therapy, and obesity. Objective. To find out the characteristics of patients with epithelial ovarian cancer at RSUP Haji Adam Malik Medan in 2020–2023. Methods. This research uses descriptive methods with a cross-sectional design. The data collection was carried out using consecutive sampling techniques, with the inclusion criteria are patients with epithelial ovarian cancer who were diagnosed based on anatomical pathology examination and were fully recorded in the medical records of RSUP Haji Adam Malik Medan since January 2020–July 2023. Results and Discussion. The majority of samples are old age (>40 years) (82.5%), multiparity (37.5%), normal BMI (28.7%), high CA-125 levels (88.8%), stage 3 (61.3%), serous tumors (52.5%), and metastases localization to more than one location (35.0%). Conclusion. The characteristics of patients with ovarian epithelial cancer based on the largest number of each variable are old age, multiparity, normal BMI, high CA-125 levels, stage III FIGO staging, histopathological serous tumors, metastases localization to more than one location.
