Gambaran Tekanan Darah pada Lansia Penduduk Desa Pantai Labu Pekan Dusun I Kabupaten Deli Serdang
Abstract
Hypertension or often referred to as high blood pressure. Hypertension is an increase in
systolic and diastolic blood pressure, which is > 140/90 mmHg. According to the World
Health Organisation (WHO) an estimated 1.28 billion people aged 30-79 years
worldwide suffer from hypertension. The prevalence of hypertension increases every
year. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of blood pressure in
elderly residents of Pantai Labu Pekan Dusun I, Deli Serdang Regency. Data from the
local health centre shows hypertension as the main disease with the most sufferers. The
research was conducted in Pantai Labu Pekan Dusun I village in November 2022 using
descriptive research design. The sampling technique used was total sampling with a
population aged> 45 years as many as 39 people, so the sample was 39 respondents.
Blood pressure checks using a stethoscope and sphygmomanometer with the One Med
brand. The results of blood pressure measurements show a high rate of hypertension in
the village, the majority of the population is female. Based on age, the majority of
respondents were in the Elderly age group (60-74 years) as many as 26 respondents
(66.8%). The blood pressure level was in the Elderly (60-74 years) with hypertension II
as many as 9 respondents (23.1%). This is triggered by poor lifestyles such as smoking,
excessive salt consumption, lack of physical movement especially in mothers and high
levels of stress due to low income. So the need to maintain a good lifestyle, in order to
avoid the risk of hypertension.
