dc.description.abstract | Otorhinolaryngology is a medical specialty that focuses on conditions related to the ear, nose and throat where these organs are interconnected and connected to each other. The connection of these three organs causes a connection between organs if one of them experiences a problem. In diagnosing problems or diseases of the ear, nose and throat, a physical examination and diagnostic procedures are carried out. This is one of the bases for determining what form of treatment to give, ranging from mild treatment to surgery. In 2017, according to a global survey, as many as 16 million ear, nose and throat surgeries in children and adults have been performed each year, with most surgeries being performed on the throat organ. The media used for teaching ear, nose and throat surgery is still old and not updated, learning media such as books and 2D animation videos are still the most widely used media. To provide more interactive and risk-free learning, a learning media is needed that allows users to interact, such as seeing, touching, and simulating operations in real time. This research produced a simulation application made using Unity 3D to display the surgical process on the throat (tracheostomy) with Virtual Reality technology as a learning medium. | en_US |
