Gambaran Pemilihan Coping Stress pada Penyelesaian Skripsi Mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Sumatera Utara
Abstract
A student is someone who is in the process of gaining knowledge and is currently enrolled in higher education. In the teaching and learning process in lectures, students are required to be able to complete and be responsible for their actions, achievements, cognitively, affectively, and psychomotorically as teaching outcomes. The amount of pressure that must be completed, but not in accordance with the abilities felt can cause feelings of anxiety, inability, and others which are also known as stress. stress for students arises from various things, one of which is from an academic perspective. Stress is included in the category of mental health problems and to deal with stress individuals must have a strategy to solve it, namely coping with stress. Coping stress is a strategy for managing behavior. practice towards solving the most simple and realistic problems, functioning to free oneself from problems. The explanation above shows that students should have the right coping stress to overcome the problems they experience. This research wants to see the description of coping stress in students who are working on their thesis. The results of this study show that if we look at the coping stress variable specs, the positive aspects of coping stress are in the moderate category, namely as many as 148 people or 84%. The results of the categorization of positive coping stress aspects are in the medium category, while the negative coping stress aspects are in the high category.
