| dc.description.abstract | Background. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is the second catastrophic disease
in Indonesia, with an increasing prevalence over the years. Hypertension is one of
the risk factors for CKD. Kidney Ultrasonography (USG) is one of the tools used
for diagnosing and managing CKD. Objective. The objective of this study is to
determine the characteristics of Kidney USG in hypertensive patients with CKD at
Prof. dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital, Medan. Method. This research method is
descriptive with a cross-sectional study approach. The sample was selected using
total sampling on patients with had records of body weight (BW), blood pressure
(BP), and Kidney USG results. Data analysis in this study includes univariate
analysis presented in tables and descriptive statistics. Results. After the research,
there were 100 samples with the majority in the male gender group (73%), aged
60-69 years (42%), BW group 80-89 kg (26%), LFG degree V group (39%), stage
1 hypertension (47%), normal kidney shape and size on the right (74%) and left
(71%), homogeneously increased parenchymal echogenicity on the right (51%)
and left kidney (54%), normal cortex and medulla differentiation on the right and
left kidney (61%), normal widening of the proximal pelvicalyceal system of the
proximal ureter on the right (89%) and left kidney (86%), no stones on the right
(93%) and left kidney (92%), and cysts in the patient's right (87%) and left kidney
(86%). Conclusion. There are structural changes in the kidneys of hypertensive
patients with CKD, including normal kidney shape and size, homogeneously
increased parenchymal echogenicity, normal cortex and medulla differentiation,
normal widening of the the proximal pelvicalyceal system of the proximal ureter,
and no stones and cysts in the patient's kidneys. | en_US |
