Introduction. Glucocorticoids have been the anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive therapy of choice for more than 60 years in many types of disease. A serious impact due to long-term use of glucocorticoids is osteoporosis or also known as glucocorticoid induced osteoporosis (GIO). Bone fragility in patients who use long-term glucocorticoids, which is not reflected in bone mineral density and reduction in bone mass depends on a decrease in bone quality. The classic diagnosis of osteoporosis in GIO patients is carried out using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) and the risk of fracture can be seen using the FRAX® tool (Fracture Risk Assessment Tool). Objective. To determine the value of the FRAX Tool in patients with long-term use of glucocorticoids. Method. Descriptive observational with a cross sectional study approach using primary data and secondary data from medical records of the Rheumatology Polyclinic, RSUP Haji Medan in September-November 2023. Results and Discussion. Of the 147 respondents, for the risk of major osteoporosis, those with low risk were 69 respondents (46.9%), 44 respondents with moderate risk (29.9%), and 34 respondents with high risk (23.1%). FRAX score for hip fracture risk, which found a low risk of 78 respondents (53.1%). while high risk was 69 respondents (46.9%). Conclusion. Most of the participant who had long term glucocorticoids are at the low risk for major osteoporosis fracture and hip fracture.en_US
