This research aims to determine differences in levels of Student Engagement in terms of Interpersonal Teacher Behavior in high school students' mathematics lessons. This research examines one of 8 types of interpersonal teacher behavior, namely strict. This research consists of 2 groups, namely strict and non-strict. This study involved 105 student subjects who were taken using incidental sampling. The data collection method used likert scale. There were 33 students in the Strict group, and 72 students in the non-Strict group. The data analysis method used in this study is independent samples t-test. The results of data analysis show the sig. (2-tailed) 0.003 <0.05 which shows that there are differences in the level of Student Engagement in the Strict and non-Strict groups towards high school students' mathematics lessons. Students in the Non-Strict group have higher average overall scores and scores per dimension of Student Engagement. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that there were differences in the level of Student Engagement between the Strict and non-Strict groups, where students with mathematics teachers who had non-Strict Interpersonal Teacher Behavior had higher levels of Student Engagement.
