The success of any organization depends on its workforce. Ideally, employees should be highly committed to their organization for it to thrive. However, organization faces a challenge with many employees showing low commitment. To understand this issue, researchers conducted interviews at the bank, revealing a need for further investigation into the factors causing this low commitment. This study focuses on two key factors: psychological contracts and ethical leadership. This study is examined how psychological contracts influence organizational commitment and whether ethical leadership strengthens this influence. The study surveyed 172 employees at Bank Sumut. Data was collected using scales to measure organizational commitment, psychological contracts, and ethical leadership. The results showed that psychological contracts positively and significantly affect organizational commitment. Ethical leadership was found to moderate this relationship. Based on these findings Bank Sumut is encouraged to take action to improve employee psychological contracts and implement ethical leadership so that employee organizational commitment can increase.
