Pengaruh Paparan Debu terhadap Gangguan Pernapasan pada Pekerja Bagian Produksi Beton di PT Sumbetri Megah Tahun 2020

Abstract

Labor as a human resource has a major role in the industrial development process. The progress of the industrial sector in Indonesia is more increasing from year to year, of course with this, it can encourage the use of materials, machine or sophisticated equipment in the production process. During the production process, of course, it can cause risks to workers, one of which can cause respiratory problems that can affect the work productivity. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of workers and exposure to dust that can affect respiratory problems in concrete production workers at PT. Sumbetri Megah in 2020. This type of research is analytical observational with a cross sectional design of 41 respondents. The results showed that from 41 respondents there were 22 respondents who had respiratory problems. Factors that influence the variable of respiratory disorders are age (p value 0,04 ),smoke (p value 0,003), use of respiratory protective equipment (p value 0,019). Measurement of dust levels was not carried out due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The recommendation that could given is the effort to be always use the Personal Protective Equipment (APD), especially masks at work and the supervision on using masks while working and then do the routine check up regularly on workers' health as a preventive on minimize the entry of dust into the respiratory system.
