dc.description.abstract | The incidence of Patient Discharge on Their Own Request (PAPS) in hospitalized patients at Rantau Prapat General Hospital is increasing every year. The number of patients who chose to leave hospitalization voluntarily in 2020 reached 267 people, which is 11.25% of the total 1476 inpatients. This figure has increased in 2021, where 328 patients or 12.38% of the total 1587 inpatients decided to go home of their own. The patient's decision to leave the hospital even though his health condition has not stabilized and is not in accordance with medical recommendations can be interpreted as an expression of dissatisfaction, a sense of disappointment, and a loss of trust in hospital services. This study is a descriptive quantitative study with an Analysis of Secondary Data (ADS) approach. The purpose of this study was to analysis of the incident of going home on own request (PAPS) on inpatients at Rantau Prapat General Hospital in 2022. The sample in this study were 40 respondents. Data collection was done through interviews and questionnaires. The results showed that the incidence of discharge at their own request (PAPS) at Rantau Prapat General Hospital was predisposing factors, knowledge and attitudes, enabling factors, medical facilities, services, costs, and reinforcing factors were the behavior of medical personnel. It was concluded that the analysis of the incidence of discharge on their own request was a lack of understanding of the importance of continuing treatment at the hospital which could be a factor in their decision to go home early. As well as the attitude of medical personnel who are less responsive, lack of attention, and lack of adequate explanation so that it can affect the patient's attitude towards medical care at Rantau Prapat General Hospital. It is recommended that health workers at Rantau Prapat General Hospital always support every inpatient by being willing to explain a disease well so that it can be understood by patients and families. | en_US |
