Analisis Pengelolaan Linen dan Pemeriksaan Angka Kuman Linen Bersih di Instalasi Laundry Rumah Sakit Putri Hijau Medan Tahun 2023

Abstract

Hospitals, as one of the health facilities, have a very important role in improving the degree of public health by providing comprehensive individual health services. The laundry installation, which is one of the non-medical support roles at Putri Hijau Hospital, is still found to have linen management procedures that are not in accordance with applicable regulations. This study aims to analyze linen management and germ counts on clean linen in the laundry installation of Putri Hijau Hospital Medan in 2023. This research is descriptive with an observational approach, interviews and laboratory tests. The research subjects consisted of laundry staff and the head of the laundry installation at Putri Hijau Hospital. The results showed that the facilities and equipment that support linen management were still found to be incompatible with applicable regulations. In the management of linen in the laundry installation of Putri Hijau Hospital, starting from the collection, reception, storage and distribution stages, it is in accordance with the requirements of hospital environmental health, while at the washing, drying, ironing and transportation stages it is not appropriate or does not meet the requirements of hospital environmental health based on the provisions of Permenkes RI No. 7 of 2019. Bacteriological examination showed that the germ count in 3 clean linen samples met the requirements. The shortcomings that exist in the input and process aspects of linen management in the laundry installation of Putri Hijau Hospital require supervision to ensure performance according to procedures and prevent the risk of infection due to improper handling of linen.
