    Abstract
Dyspepsia is a syndrome or collection of symptoms/complaints consisting of pain or discomfort in the upper abdomen, which can be followed by other symptoms such as the stomach feeling full quickly, bloating, nausea with or without vomiting, decreased appetite, and belching. . The incidence of dyspepsia in the world reaches 15-40% of the total population, in Asia it ranges from 8-30%. The prevalence of dyspepsia in Indonesia is 2.5%, and in North Sumatra it is 6.7%. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between diet and stress levels with dyspepsia syndrome in students at the Imam Muslim Sei Rampah Islamic Boarding School in 2023. This research is an analytical type of research with a cross sectional design. The research location was carried out at the Imam Muslim Sei Rampah Islamic Boarding School from February-November 2023. The research sample consisted of 111 people and was taken by purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out by interviews using a questionnaire, then analyzed univariately and bivariately using the chi-square statistical test. The research results showed that 55.9% of respondents suffered from dyspepsia syndrome. The statistical test results showed that there was a relationship between type of food (p-value=0.0001), eating schedule (p-value=0.0001), moderate stress level (p-value=0.034), and severe stress level ((p- value=0.0001) with dyspepsia syndrome in students at the Imam Muslim Sei Rampah Islamic Boarding School in 2023. The Islamic Boarding School is expected to provide education to students about related factors and prevention of dyspepsia. Students are expected to pay attention to eating patterns based on the type of food and eating schedule and stress control.
