Nowadays, the development of digital transformation is taking place massively. Along
with the development of digital transformation, human resources are required to be
able to adapt well. There are four compulsory skills to be able to adapt well: technical
skills, methodological skills, communication skills, and personal skills. One way to
acquire such compulsory skills is to improve English as one of the main tools used in
communication and enhance computational thinking skills that can enhance technical
and methodological skills. To the goal of improving communication skills and
computational think skills, a learning method is required that combines English
learning and computerized thinking skills in a form of learning that is easier to
understand and more interesting. With the concept of gamification of learning English
based on digital storytelling with fairytale themes, learning English and computational
thinking skills can be combined into a comprehensive and effective learning. In the
implementation of learning using gamification methods derived from the learning
materials according to the text of fairy tales. This is aimed at facilitating students in
understanding the structure of language on fairy tale. The research also applies handson
projects as a form of testing the understanding of computational thinking skills.
The results of this study show that learning with the concept of gamification has been
proven to enhance proven learning outcomes by increasing the pre-test and post-test
averages from 81.7 to 92.9. Thus, this research can contribute more to its implications
and can be widely integrated to support human resource adaptation to digital
transformation.
