Hubungan Pengetahuan, Sikap, dan Motivasi Kerja Perawat dengan Penerapan Patient Safety di Ruang Rawat Inap RSUP H Adam Malik Tahun 2023

Abstract

Patient safety is an effort to prevent or reduce the risks of medical errors and injuries that can occur to patients. The implementation of patient safety programs is a top priority in healthcare across hospitals in Indonesia. Patient safety encompasses six patient safety goals, including Accurate patient identification, Enhanced effective communication, Improved medication safety, Assurance of location, procedure, and surgical patient safety , Reduction of infection risks, and Minimization of fall risks. This study aims to elucidate the relationship between nurses' knowledge, attitudes, and work motivation with the implementation of patient safety in the inpatient ward of RSUP H. Adam Malik in the year 2023. The research employs a quantitative approach using a cross-sectional design. The study was conducted at the Haji Adam Malik General Hospital starting from June 2023 until its completion. The sample for this research consists of 75 respondents. The research instrumen utilizes a questionnaire and employs the Spearman rank test for analysis. Based on knowledge, there is a relationship between nurses' knowledge and the implementation of patient safety with a significance value of p (0.025) < 0.050. Based on attitudes, there is a relationship between nurses' attitudes and the implementation of patient safety with a significance value of p (0.022) < 0.050. Based on work motivation, there is a relationship between nurses' work motivation and the implementation of patient safety with a significance value of p (0.038) < 0.050. In conclusion, there exists a relationship between nurses' knowledge, attitudes, and work motivation with the implementation of patient safety in the inpatient ward of RSUP H. Adam Malik in the year 2023.
