Medical tourism is a trip out of town or abroad to obtain check up, medical procedures, and/or other medical check up at a hospital. It is regrettable that until now the Indonesian people have become the target market for the medical tourism phenomenon in neighboring and surrounding countries. Every year as many as 2 million Indonesians choose to treatment abroad, so that the country to lose foreign exchange reaching IDR 165 trillion. Cardiac services are the type of treatment that is mostly accessed by medical tourists from North Sumatra in Malaysia. The prevalence of heart disease in 2018 has increased to reach 1,5%. This research aims to determine the preferences of Indonesian people in choosing cardiac services in the era of medical tourism. This research uses the conjoint analysis method with 4 attributes which are designed to be 32 stimuli using the full profile method. Sampling was carried out using the snowball sampling method with a total of 50 Indonesians who suffer from heart disease and have received treatment abroad. The research results show that the preferences of the Indonesian people for cardiac services are based on the order of the most important attributes is service quality, communication, cost, and tourism. A combination of levels of attributes that are the preferences of the Indonesian people for cardiac services is international accredited hospitals, doctors and medical staff in internationally certified cardiac services; available information before and after the treatment of heart disease; affordable heart disease treatment costs; and available travel agents.
