dc.description.abstractThis research examines how the efforts made by farmers of Sumber Makmur Village, Limapuluh District, Batubara Regency when their livestock, namely cattle, contracted the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) . This research relies on qualitative research with an ethnographic approach with survival theory with Anthropological approach. While data collection techniques with observation activities, in-depth interviews, documentation and also literature studies. This study found that there are efforts made in treating cattle infected with PMK. The efforts made range from technical to spiritual. The findings of this study also discuss how other efforts are made when livestock die and what is done after the PMK Plague has passed. After that, the field findings were analyzed with a survival theory approach and also an approach through ethnoveterinary science to find local knowledge of the village community in it.en_US
