Strategi Bertahan Hidup Korban PHK Pandemi (Studi Kasus terhadap Karyawan Wisata di Desa Rumah Berastagi/Ujung Aji, Kecamatan Berastagi, Kabupaten Karo)

Abstract

Most people’s job in Berastagi were dominated by farming and tourist sector because Berastagi is well known as city of recreation and so many people made Berastagi as a destination. So then many people lives from working on farming and tourism. Because of the pandemic, many company especially that relate with excursion must close temporary and doing some reduction labor, that is the best decision that they made so the company keep operating. As a result, many people that work for the company must lost there job and find the new one but the opportunity is too small. The government has made a policy about activity restrictions in public life that caused many of these victims must having some idleness and no income that they get. Desa Rumah Berastagi/Ujung Aji is a place that dominated with farming and tourist, so work outside the house is reasonable and not a good option for work from home. Even though the situation is become better, but the victim’s life still need to be recover. The victims have to make some strategy so they can make sufficient life. There are strategies that they used such as active strategy, passive strategy, and network strategy. Active strategy is a strategy where they use there skill to fulfil there needs. Passive strategy is a strategy that they use with keeping there supply and less spending. Network strategy is a strategy that they using with there relation with the society. This research is about description on how the Covid-19 pandemic can effect the victims that having some layoff and how they can survived. This research are made and analyzed by writers qualitatively. The techniques of collecting data are carried out by literature study, observation, interviews and documentation.
