dc.description.abstractCommunity policing is a policing strategy that focuses on building relationships with community members. The existence of community policing as an alternative form of police service is a strategic decision for members of the state police, both in concept and implementation. Through these activities, public order maintenance activities can be carried out in harmony with the local community, and the social reputation of the police can be improved.. The formulation of the problem in this thesis research is what are the causes of narcotics crime in the East Medan Sector Police, how is the implementation of Community Policing in tackling narcotics crimes in the East Medan Sector Police area, what are the obstacles and efforts to implement Community Policing in overcoming narcotics crime in the Medan Sector Police area East. The research method used was a normative juridical research method supported by empirical data, namely conducting interviews with Iptu Oofy Adycta Septandra, Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Medan Sector Police. The data obtained were analyzed using qualitative methods to draw conclusions deductively. The results of the study show that the causes of narcotics crimes in the jurisdiction of the East Medan Sector Police are due to personality and curiosity factors, social factors in the community/surrounding environment, social interaction factors, economic factors, family factors, factors of goods and dominant factors. caused by personality factors and curiosity. The implementation of Community Policing in dealing with narcotics crimes in the East Medan Sector Police area has been maximized because of the reduced crime rate that occurred in the jurisdiction of the East Medan Sector Police. Obstacles to implementing Community Policing in dealing with narcotics crimes in the East Medan Sector Police include human resource factors, budget factors, facilities and infrastructure factors, and community attention and support factors. These factors are factors that can reduce and increase crime in the jurisdiction of the East Medan Sector Policeen_US
