Penggunaan Limbah Sekam Padi dan Pasir Besi sebagai Bahan Magnet Permanen
Abstract
The preparation of rice husk waste and iron sand as a permanent magnet material using the Solid State Reaction method has been successfully carried out. Preparation of samples of rice husk waste and iron sand with a composition ratio of (7:3; 8:2; 9:1) gr/gr, each composition is carried out Milling with the principle of High Energy Milling (HEM). Furthermore, the samples were calcined at a temperature of 1100'C with an emphasis of 2 hours. Characterization was carried out using XRD (X-Ray Diffraction), SEM-EDX (Scanning Electron Microscopy), and VSM (Vibrating Sample Magnetometer). XRD showed peaks with miller indices [012], [104], [110], [113], [024], [116] and [300]. The crystal size calculated using the Scherrer equation with a sample ratio of (7:3; 8:2; 9:1) gr/gr is (40.79 nm), (37.58 nm) and (38.51 nm). SEM-EDX shows a uniform surface morphology with variations in particle size around 1 μm (Micrometer) and elements of Fe, Si, O and C contained in the sample. VSM Hard Magnet magnetic results that are ferromagnetic in the sample ratio (7: 3 and 8: 2) because it has a coercivity value between 125-5,026 Oe, associated with the coercivity value and particle size, if the particle size is getting smaller, the coercivity value is getting smaller too so that it is easy to experience magnetization. In this study, the use of rice husk waste and iron sand as a permanent magnet material has been carried out which aims to determine the magnetic material, magnetic morphology and magnetic properties.
