As many as 90% of spontaneous normal births experience perineal tears either with an episiotomy or without an episiotomy at the time of delivery of the fetus, 50% of perineal tears in the world occur in Asia and in Indonesia perineal injuries are experienced by 75% of women giving birth vaginally. In this case there are 2 methods used in the treatment of perineal wounds in postpartum mothers, namely the sitz bath method and the Maternity Cool Gel Pad (MCGP) method. Sitz baths are activities by soaking the body parts from the hips down to the bottom using warm water, while the MCGP is a pad-shaped cloth in which a cool gel pad is placed which will be applied to the perineal wound. From the therapeutic interventions of the sitz bath method and the MCGP method that have been carried out on postpartum mothers with perineal wounds in the Working Area of the Pantai Cermin Health Center, the results show that 3 out of 4 postpartum mothers with perineal injuries choose the Maternity Cool Gel Pad (MCGP) method for perineal wound care. There are differences in perineal wounds before and after therapy, related to the healing process, a sense of security and comfort, and decreased pain.
