dc.description.abstract | A study entitled ethnographic study of devotors at the Shri Mariamman Binjai temple. The study aims: 1. To find out what activities were carried out during worship at the Shri Mariamman Binjai sanctuary.2. To find out about the activities of devotees other than devotees at the Shri Mariamman Binjai temple. The research method used by writers is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. In addition, it uses data-collection techniques of observation and in-depth interview. The informant in this study comes from religious figures, devotees and chiefs or staff who work at the Shri Mariamman Binjai temple. Studies have shown that there are several year-long veneration and celebrations at the Shri Mariamman Binjai temple in the city of binjai, including Thai Ponggal, Thaipussam, Maha Sivaratri, Parippu Varudap,, Vinayagar Chaturhi, Navaratri and Deepavali. In addition to religious activities there are other communities such as the arisan mothers community, youth and assembly of the Shri Mariamman Binjai temple. Hindusm in the cities of Binjai and elsewhere can draw inspiration from the Shri Mariamman Binjai temple in their esteem and defense of their religious heritage. It is important to guard the temple and continue the traditional religious ceremonies performed by previous ancestors.
