Pemenuhan Gizi dan Pemanfaatan Posyandu dalam Mencegah Stunting pada Keluarga Penerima PKH di Binjai Utara Kota Binjai
Abstract
Poverty in Indonesia is still a problem that has not been resolved. Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five years old which is caused by chronic malnutrition, causing children to have short bodies for their age. The condition of stunting in society reflects failure in achieving development such as the body's genetics. This research was conducted in North Binjai, Binjai City, using eight informants consisting of two key informants, 5 main informants and one additional informant. Data collection techniques use qualitative methods, interviews, observation and documentation. So that in the end conclusions can be drawn from the research results. The results show that there are still many parents who do not understand the dangers of stunting and what it is. So children are detected too late as having stunting. Fulfilling nutrition well, such as paying attention to the intake of carbohydrates, protein, vitamins and fats, can enable children to develop well. Apart from that, regular use of posyandu can detect children early when they experience problems in their growth and development. However, in reality parents only take their children until they are one year old. Children should be able to use posyandu until the age of five to monitor the child's growth and development. Fulfillment and utilization of posyandu if done well and regularly can be an effort to prevent stunting.
