    Abstract
Tonsillitis consists of acute tonsillitis and chronic tonsillitis. Acute tonsillitis is an infection of the tonsils caused by various bacteria or viruses, and can cause a peritonsillar abscess. Epidemiologically tonsillitis often occurs in children. Almost every child experiences acute tonsillitis (consisting of tonsillopharyngitis) at least once in their life and accounts for 5-15% of doctor visits. The purpose of this research is to apply nursing care to children with acute tonsillitis. Management of nursing care starts from conducting assessments, conducting data analysis, formulating nursing diagnoses, compiling interventions, implementing interventions, and conducting nursing evaluations. The results of the study showed that An. A experienced pain in the throat with a scale of 6, difficulty swallowing accompanied by a feeling of discomfort. An. A has a high fever. An. A also experienced a decrease in appetite and from the calculation of body mass index (BMI), An. A is categorized as underweight. The top priority nursing diagnosis obtained is acute pain associated with inflammation. The second nursing diagnosis is hyperthermia associated with an acute infection by microorganisms. The third nursing diagnosis is nutritional deficit related to inadequate intake and difficulty swallowing. The implementation was carried out by collaborating to provide drugs with the analgesic/ibuprofen class, namely 250 ml paracetamol, performing deep breathing techniques, and applying warm compresses. The evaluation that was obtained after implementation was that the pain was reduced to a scale of 2, there was no fever, and the child's appetite began to increase.
