dc.description.abstractThis study aims to determine the influence of the Processing Industry Sector on Economic Growth in North Sumatra Province. This study used secondary data The object of research in this study is 33 districts / cities which are all parts of North Sumatra Province from 2011 to 2020. The research method used is the panel data analysis method. And use the path analysis method to see the indirect influence. The results showed that the Processing Industry Sector had a significant and positive effect on the number of workers where there was absorption of labor in the processing industry sector. Furthermore, labor has a significant and positive effect on GDP. Meanwhile, through a sobel test to see the indirect influence of the number of processing industries has a significant and positive influence on economic growth variables, namely Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) through mediation variables, namely the number of workers in the processing industry sectoren_US
