Abstract

Oophorectomy is a surgical removal of the ovaries that can be performed unilaterally and bilaterally. This surgery is performed on ovarian pathology found in women of all ages. Pain is a process of recovering from a surgical wound, recovery of pain from a surgical wound will be fast if there is mobilization and routine control. The purpose of this senior practicum is to apply nursing theories and concepts, especially maternity nursing in managing and providing nursing care to patients with postoperative oophorectomy pain. Nursing care was carried out on 3 July 2023 - 29 July 2023 for two patients after oophorectomy surgery with ovarian cysts. The diagnoses obtained from this study were acute pain, risk of infection and barriers to physical mobility. The results obtained after the health education was carried out, the two patients responded very well and were enthusiastic about hearing the health education given. Patients understand how to manage pain non-pharmacologically, so that clients change their behavior in managing pain. It is recommended to clients and also their families to maintain a healthy diet, especially in postoperative wound recovery.
