Pengelolaan Asuhan Keperawatan dengan Pemberian Air Perasan Jeruk Nipis (Citrus Aurantiifolia) terhadap Penurunan Kadar Kolesterol

Abstract

Cholesterol is a fatty substance that circulates in the blood, is yellowish in color like wax, is produced by the liver and is needed by the body. Cholesterol is a non-hydrolyzed lipid group and is the main sterol in human tissues. The main nursing problem that can arise in clients with cholesterol is the instability of blood cholesterol levels. There are two ways to stabilize blood cholesterol levels, namely pharmacological (drug therapy) and non-pharmacological therapy. One of the plants that are believed to lower cholesterol levels such as Pectin, synephrine, flavonoids (quercetin, tangeritin, naringin and hesperidine) and rich in vitamin C to lower blood cholesterol levels. The purpose of this senior practicum is to provide nursing care to clients with cholesterol to lower blood cholesterol levels by administering lime juice for 7 consecutive days. The results obtained from this senior practicum were that there were differences in the blood cholesterol levels of the respondents before and after being given the lime juice intervention. In other words, it can be concluded that giving lime juice is effective in reducing blood cholesterol levels in the Pasar 1 neighborhood of Beringin Village, Medan Selayang District.
