Sebaran Spasial Makroinvertebrata di Daerah Aliran Sungai Deli Provinsi Sumatera Utara
Abstract
The Deli River Basin is a watershed that covers part of the area located in Karo Regency, Deli Serdang and Medan City. Many community activities along the flow of the Deli River such as bathing, sand dredging, agriculture and not infrequently the surrounding community makes the Deli River a garbage dump. This affects the quality of the waters in the Deli River and can affect the life of organisms in it. Macroinvertebrates are animals that can indicate the quality of a water. This study aims to determine the structure of macroinvertebrate communities and their spatial distribution in the Deli River. This research was conducted in July by determining sampling points using the purposive sampling method, namely by selecting 18 research stations. The results showed that the Diversity Index (H') ranged from 0 – 1.86; Uniformity Index value (E) 0 – 1 and Dominance Index value (C) range from 0. 16 – 1. Based on the SingScore method, a score is obtained that shows the Deli River is classified as a level of poor to very good water quality.
