This thesis aims to review the socio-economic conditions and survival strategies of used clothing traders at Sambu Market, Medan. This research was carried out through a qualitative approach using data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews and related participatory observations. The results of this research show that the majority of used clothing traders at the Sambu Market in Medan are women of productive age who come from low economic backgrounds and educational levels. Currently, the socio-economic conditions of used clothing traders at Sambu Market in Medan tend to be low. They face major challenges in running their business, including intense competition, rapidly changing fashion trends, and lack of access to capital. From an economic perspective, although the used clothing business provides good income for traders, the income earned is still very limited. The majority of traders are only able to meet some of their basic needs and are rarely able to set aside money for long-term savings or investments. In this research it can also be seen that traders carry out survival strategies in order to meet all their needs. One of the dominant strategies used by clothing traders is a networking strategy, which involves utilizing social networks to borrow money.
