dc.description.abstract | This thesis is titled "Values Contained in Military themed Video games (Semiotic Analysis of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Video game)". This research explores the values contained in military-themed video games, focusing on the case study "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3." In this research, an analysis was conducted using a qualitative approach and in-depth analysis method by utilizing the Roland Barthes semiotic framework. The data collection technique used was video game observation, and the data obtained was analyzed with a focus on denotation and connotation meanings. The results showed that military-themed video games, such as "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3," are not just a means of recreation, but also contain deep values. The findings of this study provide insight into how military-themed video games can convey and promote union values and character values to players. Semiotic analysis allows for a deeper understanding of the messages contained in video games, which has important implications in popular culture and its influence on players. This research helps to unearth layers of meaning that may be missed in the experience of playing video games. The values identified in this game refer to G. Everett's theory, namely economic value, recreational value, associational value, physical value, and character value. | en_US |
