dc.description.abstract | Dysmenorrhea is pain that occurs during menstruation. Dysmenorrhea experienced by most women can interfere with daily activities. The intensity of intense pain can even prevent women from moving. How to reduce dysmenorrhea can be done in two ways, namely pharmacology and non-pharmacology. Non-pharmacologically it can be done by walking, swimming, warm or cold compresses on the abdominal area and relaxation exercises to help reduce pain . One of the recommended relaxation techniques to eliminate dysmenorrhea is acupressure therapy. Acupressure therapy is a relaxation technique that can reduce pain because it will make the body produce endorphins. The aim of this senior practice is to provide information and understanding on how to reduce dysmenorrhea with acupressure therapy with a nursing care approach. Nursing care will be carried out from July 3 , 2023 to July 2, 9, 2023 . The methodology in this senior practice is a case study involving five managed clients with dysmenorrhea problems . The five clients were taught and motivated to perform routine acupressure therapy three times a week for 30 minutes or during menstrual pain. The results of nursing care were obtained by the five clients who were able to understand and perform acupressure therapy well and obtained an average score of dysmenorrhea pain intensity before doing acupressure therapy, namely with a scale range of 7 to 9 and after doing acupressure therapy decreased to a scale range of 3 to 6. It is expected that clients will continue to carry out routine and continuous acupressure therapy. | en_US |
