dc.description.abstractBackground: Gastroenteritis (GE) is inflammation of the gastric mucosa which has a high prevalence in both developed and developing countries. Methods: In conducting the research the authors used a nursing approach consisting of assessment, data analysis, formulation of nursing diagnoses, planning, implementation and evaluation using descriptive methods which were carried out on 3 patients with gastroenteritis. Results: The priority nursing problem of the three patients is fluid volume deficit. After carrying out nursing actions for 3x24 hours, the evaluation results of nursing problems are in accordance with the outcome criteria for each nursing problem. Conclusion : There were no signs of increased peristalsis, normal skin turgor, given intravenous fluids, and given health education.en_US
