dc.description.abstractHigh voltage and current flowing in the transmission line can cause an electric field. The calculation of electric field strength in high voltage airways will certainly be difficult if done manually, therefore calculating the electric field strength using the complex image method under the 150 KV transmission line between 108-109 towers from Belawan to Paya Pasir and between towers 60-61 from Sei Rotan to Kim with the help of a computer program namely the Mathematic Program created by Stephen Wolfram. The calculation results show that the highest electric field strength on the ground surface under the 150 KV transmission line between Belawan tower to Paya pasir is KV/m and between Sei Rotan to Kim is 2,6596 KV/m and 2.68 KV/m. This value is still below the standard threshold of the permitted electric field, which is 10 KV/m for workers and 5 KV/m for the general public.en_US
