This thesis is motivated because there are interesting things in the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) in Medan City in 2020. The first is that the Pilkada at the provincial and district / city levels will be held simultaneously on December 9, 2020. The second is the pandemic that colored this year's Pilkada which resulted in a change in the way of campaigning from restrictions. This thesis analyzes the Political Campaign Method of Candidate Pair Bobby Nasution-Aulia Rachman on Instagram in the 2020 Medan City Regional Head Election. This thesis seeks to find out how the campaign conducted by the Bobby-Aulia pair on Instagram and what content was used on Instagram during the campaign period in the 2020 Medan City Regional Head Election.
The results showed that the campaign method carried out by the Bobby-Aulia candidate pair on Instagram in the 2020 Medan City Regional Head Election was carried out in 2 ways, namely: the first Bobby-Aulia stole a start in campaigning by forming a team that existed long before this pair was formed. The team has conducted field surveys to find out what problems exist so that in the future it can be used as a campaign issue and will be campaigned on Instagram. The second is Bobby-Aulia determining the priority issue from several existing issues. This issue will later become the most frequently campaigned issue and become Bobby-Aulia's main focus when elected. The content used to display issues is in the form of infographics, photos, videos, and caricatures/memes.
