dc.description.abstract | Poncan Island is one of the tourist destinations that attracts many people, the number of human activities can indirectly lead to changes in the value of primary productivity in a water body, Therefore, research is needed that aims to determine the value of chlorophyll-a concentrations in both surface and column waters and to estimate primary productivity that can describe all Poncan island waters. The methods used are estimating chlorophyll-a and Sea Surface Temperature using Landsat 8 and Aqua Modis Image Analysis, Estimating Primary Productivity using the Vertically Generalized Production Model (VGPM) method. Data analysis using Simple Linear Regression method on chlorophyll-a and Root Mean Square Eror (RMSE). The results of the analysis of chlorophyll-a concentration values on the island of Poncan with an average in surface waters with a value of 0,725 mg/m3 and in the water column is 0,685 mg/m3. Chlorophyll-a concentration distribution pattern data obtained from satellite image sensing processing with an average value of 0,642 mg/m3, Sea Surface Temperature on the island of Poncan analyzed on satellite images obtained an average result of 31,42 °C. The value of primary productivity using the VGPM model on the island of Poncan obtained values ranging from 796,515 – 806,022 mgC/m3/day. The results between the values of surface chlorophyll-a concentration and the water column on the island of poncan with a correlation value of 0,96 (very strong) between the two variables and a determination value of 0,92 and simple linear regression analysis on the relationship between Chlorophyll-a concentration and Primary Productivity with a correlation value of 0,99 which means very strong. The conclusion of this research is that the surface chlorophyll-a value is higher than the water column and the relationship between chlorophyll-a and primary productivity is very strong. | en_US |
