| dc.description.abstract | This research essentially aims to determine superior commodities and
basic economic sectors in Binjai City, North Sumatra Province, sub-sector
commodities of horticultural crops (fruit) and food crops in the agricultural sector
in Binjai City, North Sumatra Province, which can later be used as information
material in economic development planning.
The data used in this research is secondary data in the form of a time
series, namely 2014-2022. The data used comes from the Binjai City Central
Statistics Agency, Binjai City Food Security and Agriculture Service and is
supported by other library data. To find out the superior commodities of Binjai City,
we use quantitative methods, namely location quotient analysis, shift share analysis,
class typology analysis. To find out the base sector of Binjai City using a
quantitative method, namely location quotient analysis.
The results of this research can be concluded that based on the analysis
of the tree analytical tools, namely LQ analysis, Shift Share and Klassen Typology,
commodities that meet the combined analysis criteria that have a positive
coefficient are honey guava, duku/langsat, rabutan, mangosteen, breadfruit,
melinjo, peanuts, rice and sweet potatoes. The agricultural sector is not a base
sector in Binjai City with an average LQ value of 0.14. Based on the LQ analysis,
the basic economic sector owned by the city of Binjai is the provision of
accommodation and food and drink; mining and excavation; Educational services;
administration of government and mandatory social security; transportation and
warehousing; real estate; wholesale and retail trade and repair of cars and
motorbikes; procurement of water for processing waste and recycling; procurement
of electricity and gas; financial and insurance services; informationand
communication; health services and social activities; and other services | en_US |
