Hubungan Pola Asuh Orang Tua dengan Simtom Kecemasan pada Siswa Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Langkat

Abstract

Introduction. Anxiety is an excessive feeling of anxiety, worry and physical symptoms that hinder daily activities. In Indonesia, the prevalence of anxiety continues to increase every year, with 47.7% of adolescents in Indonesia experiencing anxiety. Nationally, mental emotional disorders in Indonesia, such as anxiety disorders, account for approximately 6% of the population. Parenting patterns used by parents have a considerable impact on the development of children's mental health in the future, especially anxiety symptoms. Objective. To analyze the relationship between parenting patterns and the onset of anxiety symptoms, especially in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Langkat students. Methods. This study used an analytic observational type with a cross sectional design, using primary data obtained from questionnaire data filled out by the research sample. The sampling technique used simple random sampling and obtained a total sample of 271 respondents, with the research sample being class X, XI and XII students. The data obtained were then processed and analyzed with the chi-square test. Results and Discussion. The results showed that there was a relationship between parenting patterns and anxiety symptoms in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Langkat students, especially father's parenting with a p value of 0.016 and mother's parenting p 0.015 obtained using the Pearson Chi-Square test (p <0.05). It was found that the majority of respondents experienced mild anxiety symptoms. In addition, it was also seen that fathers and mothers with an authoritarian parenting approach experienced higher levels of anxiety symptoms. Conclusion. Through this study, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between parenting patterns and anxiety symptoms in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Langkat students.
