Temulawak (Curcuma zanthorryza L.) is often found in tropical forests.
Temulawak also reproduces on moorland around settlements, especially on
loose soil, so that the rhizome fruit easily grows large. To make processed
ginger, a machine is needed to speed up the chopping process, which is
called a ginger chopper machine. The aim of this research is to test the rotation
speed of the Temulawak chopping machine with the calculation parameters of
the effective capacity of the tool, yield, percentage of wasted material and
economic analysis. The Temulawak chopping machine has 3 engine rotation
speed treatments, namely 800 rpm, 1000 rpm and 1200 rpm. In this study, the
average effective capacity of the tool was found to be 43.20kg/hour,
49.49kg/hour and 58.48kg/hour. The average yield values obtained from testing
were 0.95%, 0.94% and 0.95%. The average results of wasted material are
0.01%, 0.03% and 0.02%. The economic analysis of this machine has fixed costs
of IDR 184,000
